Outreach program on Introduction to Programming Concepts using Microbit

The "Introduction to Programming Concepts" session, jointly organized by Glug Pace and Embed Club, was conducted with the aim of introducing programming fundamentals to first-year PA Polytechnic students in a creative and engaging manner. Led by experienced resource persons Mohammed Nouman and Muadh Bin Mohammed Ali, the session provided an in-depth exploration of essential programming concepts, laying a strong foundation for students' understanding of computer programming.

The session began with an overview of fundamental programming concepts, including variables, data types, conditional statements, loops, and functions. Mohammed Nouman and Muadh Bin Mohammed Ali explained these concepts in a clear and accessible manner, ensuring that students with varying levels of prior knowledge could grasp the material effectively. Through interactive discussions and examples, students gained insight into the importance of these concepts in writing efficient and structured code.

One of the highlights of the session was the demonstration of programming using the BBC micro:bit kit. Nouman and Ali showcased how to write and execute programs on the micro:bit, a versatile microcontroller platform widely used for educational purposes. Students were given hands-on experience with programming the micro:bit, allowing them to see the immediate results of their code and understand the concepts of program execution and debugging.

Throughout the session, coordinators Mohammed Thajuddin Sanad, Muhammad Ajlan, and Sheik Rifazali ensured smooth facilitation and actively engaged with students to address any questions or concerns. Their dedication and support contributed to the overall success of the event, fostering a conducive learning environment for all participants.

Conclusion:

The "Introduction to Programming Concepts" session provided first-year PA Polytechnic students with a comprehensive understanding of programming fundamentals and practical skills in program development. By combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on activities using the micro:bit kit, the session encouraged students to explore and experiment with programming concepts, paving the way for their continued growth and success in the field of computer science and engineering. Special thanks to all the organizers, resource persons, and coordinators for their valuable contributions to the event's success
