On the occasion of Independence Day, a Web Development Competition was organized by the Department or CSE And GLUG PACE at PA College of Engineering on August 15th. The competition aimed to provide students with an opportunity to showcase their web development skills and creativity while celebrating the spirit of independence. The event was conducted entirely online, allowing participants to compete from the their own spaces.
The competition's themes were "Patriotic Art Gallery," "Independence Through Music," "Nation's Journey to Freedom," and "Remembering Freedom Fighters." These themes were revealed 10 minutes prior to the commencement of the competition.
Participants had three hours to develop and create their web projects.
All participants were required to create a GitHub repository for their projects and upload their code and related files. Additionally, they were asked to create a zip file of their project as a backup submission.
The submitted websites underwent evaluation by three experienced lecturers and Rifaz Ali, the Web Head of GLUG PACE. Their combined expertise ensured a comprehensive and insightful assessment of the projects.
The prize distribution ceremony took place on August 21st, graced by the presence of Dr. Sharmila Kumari, the Head of the CSE Department. This event served as a valuable platform to acknowledge and applaud the unwavering efforts and dedication demonstrated by the participants. Furthermore, it's worth noting that all participants were awarded participation certificates by GLUG PACE. These certificates not only commemorate their active involvement but also acknowledge their contribution to the success of the event.
The Web Development Competition organized as a part of the Independence Day celebration was a resounding success. It provided students with a platform to showcase their technical skills, creativity, and innovation. The event also encouraged a sense of healthy competition and camaraderie among the participants. The presence of Dr. Sharmila Kumari during the prize distribution ceremony added to the significance of the event, and the success of the competition further demonstrated the department's commitment to fostering learning and innovation among its students.
